  1. My opinion remains the same. It is not wise to confess to a crime you didn't commit. The difference between right and wrong is clear. There are many ways to interpret the bible. That which doesn't destroy us only makes us stronger. It's hard to forgive yourself. Courage is doing something that is difficult and fearsome. A person is innocent until proven guilty. Beliefs in opposition to common values should not be illegal. Justice is best determined in a court of law.

  2. "Justice is best determined in the court of law." At the beginning of the story my opinion of this quote was that I disagreed. Now that I have read the entire play I still disagree with the meaning of the quote. Justice in the court of law is never always 100% fair each and every time. True justice in my opinion is never served correctly. Another reason why I disagree is because abigail is a main classification for this quote in the sense of her lying to danforth and the court about her dancing and commiting acts of witchery in the woods with the other girls. She lied and still was pleaded innocent which is not fait whatsoever. She is a contradictory and is the basic evil in the play.

  3. "A person is innocent until proven guilty" this statement is nothing to the people of Salem. The court would accuse anyone suspiciously using wichcraft. The accused would have no say in anything unless they confessed. My opinion for this quote in the beginning of the play was still the same. I was aware that the accused were not innocent until proven guilty. In Johns case he died to keep his name but did not confess. This influenced my point of view about the crucible because the accused in Salem were courageous and died because they wanted to stand up for thier beliefs. My opinion did not change. -Paloma Rivero

  4. "Justice is best determined in the court of law." At the beginning of the Crucible I thought that this was a true statement. By the end of the story I realized that this was not so true. The court in Salem really just went with what the girls were saying. He really didn’t know the truth at all. Justice with the court is not always fair. Innocent people were dying because the girls were lying. Abigail should have been the one killed. She was the one that started all these lies about the people in Salem. She then manipulates the other girls to be on her side. -Brianna Harper

  5. "Courage means doing something even though it can be difficult and fearsome." My opinion remains the same, because many of the characters in the play show that they can't show courage. Mary Warren was insecure and tried to be courageous and save people in the town by revealing the girls, but got scared and changed her mind. In my eyes, the people who lost their lives were the most courageous to me, because they stood for justice and wouldn't belittle themselves just to save their lives.

  6. "Justice is best determined in the court of law." I didn’t think that this was true until the middle of the play. The court went by what people said. Not what the truth was. The court would go by what Abigail and the girls would cry out. They would kill innocent people not knowing the truth. My opinion the court was not fair at all.

  7. My opinion has not changed at all.I still think that if you confess to a crime you didnt do is wrong. Also, that you are inacent untill provin guilty. In this play also shows through john Proctor that the differnce between right and wrong is clear. My reasons are because, i still think even if you wouldnt be punished if you comitted to something you didnt do, it just shows that you have no respect for your self. Also, no matter what the difference between right and wrong is clear.

  8. In my own opinion for the quote "It's more difficult to forgive yourself if the person you have hurt doesn't forgive you." I had said that I did agree with this. After reading the whole play, my opinion still has not changed. I strongly agree with this quote because when John was having an affair with Abigail, he knew that he was in the wrong place and that he was going to be hurting Elizabeth but he still did it. After he had confessed, he then felt the pain that Elizabeth felt. When he knew that it was hurting her, it was hard for him to be happy with himself. That's when he had then signed the paper and was killed. I like this quote a lot because I have once been in that kind of situation where I faced the problem of not being able to forgive myself.

  9. My opinions remained the same from the beginning of the play until the end. "A person is innocent until proven guilty," is false. Sometimes when people are taken to court they already know the person did the crime, they only need the court to keep everything in order. "Justice is best determined in the court of law," is also false. In the Crucible justice was handled in the court and that did more harm than good.

  10. “Confessing to a crime you didn’t commit in order to avoid punishment is wise.” My opinion on this statement remains the same after reading The Crucible. I believe that you should not confess to something that you did not do. It shows that you as a person are weak and are unable to stand up for what you believe in. Also if you confess to something that you did not do, you have to live with the thought that you gave up instead of standing up. To me, to be a good and honest person you must always stick up for what you believe in.

  11. My opinion has changed a little bit because I don't thinks that the court should have the power to kill someone just because they have been accused of being a witch. You could just accuse anyone back then that they were a witch if you didn't like that person. It didn't matter who you were or what your name is. That's the thing that sounds out the most to me . I'm glad that I got to learn about the Salem witch trials and how crazy it was. It made me mad how Abigail was just going around accusing people just because she didn't like them like what gives her the right to do a such thing. This play was a lot to take in at first but then it came easier to understand as it went on.

  12. The quote that I feel the same about is “Confessing to a crime you didn’t commit in order to avoid punishment is wise”. This is because before we read "The Crucible", I felt that it is unwise to confess to a crim that you didnt commit because that can affect your self-pride. I feel that you should stand up for yourself, and if you are wrongly convicted, then so be it, but you should never confess to a crime you didnt commit.

  13. The quote I felt that my opinion stayed the same for was "That which doesn't destroy us only makes us stronger." I felt it stayed the same because when you go through something in life and it's something difficult and tragic, you can always find a way to push through it and find the good in it. In "The Crucible" John had committed adultry to his wife and realized that what he did was wrong. The fact that he had done that, only made him stronger. I have personally been through many tragic things that have related myself to this quote.

  14. I feel that my opinion stayed the same thoughout the play. The quote that i chose was "confessing to a crime you didn't comment in order to avoid punishment is wise." I still feel that it's I'mportant to stand up to what you believe in

  15. "Justice is best determined in the court of law." I said before that this statement was true. I now think that it's not always true, as in the witch trials. In this case, the courts were wrong. This shows that justice is not always determined in the court of law.

  16. My feeling has not changed at all from the beginning compared to the end. “Confessing to a crime you didn’t commit in order to avoid punishment is wise.” I still think that you should not falsly accuse yourself even if it saved you from punishment.Even if you never get punishment you still have to live with the fact that people cant ever look at you the same again. The play kind of made me think about this because proctor would have lived if he just confessed. But i think in his situation i would do the same thing because i could not live with the fact that my friends died.So I could save myself.

  17. "A person is innocent until proven guilty". My opinion remains the same. In the the salem witch trials, you were automatically guilty if you were accused. You did not get a fair trial. A lot of innocent people were killed because of this. So I still believe you are innocent until you are proven guilty.

  18. The quote that my opinion has not changed about is " Confessing to a crime you didn't commit in order to avoid punishment is wise". I still don't think that it is wise to take the blame for something you didn't do. If you confess, then you are ruining your name in the town. It makes you seem like you have no pride if you confess. A person shouldn't say they did something to get out of it easier. I think that you should only confess if you did do it.

  19. "Confessing to a crime you didn't commit in order to avoid punishment is wise". I disagreed with this before and i still disagree with it. This has happened to me before over something stupid, but I dont think it's wise. John Proctor did this to save other peoples lives and also his own at one point but that didn't go over very well. He ended up loosing his own life. Sometimes this theory doesnt always work either!

  20. "A person is innocent until proven guilty," is a quote that I think is true. My opinion still remains the same since the beginning of the play. I think this is true because in Salem, the people would accuse anyone of witchcraft. If the accused would not confess, they would go to jail or even hanged for a crime they didn't do. Also, it is not right that enable for the innocent people to get out of jail, they had to admit doing witchcraft.

  21. "Justice is best determined in the court of law" in the beginning of the play I thought the statement was true. After reading this play and seeing what the court believed, I do not think that "justice is best determined in the court of law." The court believed Abigail over Reverend Hale which was a member of the court at one time. Abigail and the girls were accusing innocent people and the court was believing them, this shows that the best way for justice to be served is not in the court of law. Someone's fate should not be determined by 12 people of the jury who may have personal opinions.

  22. “Justice determined by the court of law”. Before the play I didn’t really agree with this quote. People would not have to go to court just to get justice. You could take care of it yourself. After reading the play I still disagree with it. Proctor went in to court being innocent and he was wrongly convicted.

  23. I still have the same opinion when it comes to confessing to crimes. I believe that the statement "confessing to a crime you didn't commit in order to avoid punishment is wise" is false. If you confess to something you did not do people will lose trust in you. You have to stand up for yourself and what you believe is right. If you give in to people's accusations, others will think that they can control you. It's important to stan up for yourself and your beliefs.

  24. I feel that my opinion stayed the same throughout and even after reading the Crucible. The quote that I choose was "Confessing to a crime you didn't commit in order to avoid punishment is wise". This quote sticks out to me the most because I feel that this quote could really hurt you in the long run for A confessing to something you didn't do is lying and B it doesnt make since that you would lie to avoid punishment. 25. My opinion stayed the same throughout the story. The quote "confessing to a crime you didn't commit in order to avoid punishment is wise" isn not wise at all. If you did not commit the crime you should stand up for what you believe and fight for yourself. If something happens then you died fighting for what you believe in and will be known to some people as a hero rather than a criminal. It does not make sense to me to confess to something you did not commit, i would never in my life do anything like that, no matter the consequence.

  26. I don't know if this counts for anything, but I'm gonna do it anyway. My opinion remained the same from the beginning of the play until the end. "A person is innocent until proven guilty," is false. Sometimes when people are taken to court they already know the person did the crime, they only need the court to keep everything in order. "Justice is best determined in the court of law," is also false. In the Crucible justice was handled in the court and that did more harm than good.

  27. "A person is innocent until proven guilty." After listing to the play The Crucible. No one follows this. If someone is accussed of being a witch than they are automatically called a witch by everyone. They arent innocent they are just guilty. My opinion is still they same, you are innocent until proven guilty.

  28. The conclusion of the novel really made me happy. Even though it says shes never sees Boo again im still glad she got to see him once and he saved their lives. He risked his own life to make sure they were okay. I have a lot of favorite parts in the book but one that i thought was really cute was when she took Boo home she made it look like he was escorting a lady. It showed that Scout was growing up and figuring out how people worked and knowing what people would say if they saw her holding his hand guiding him home. Theres also so many likeable characters in this book. I really liked Jem. Through out the novel he seemed to have changed the most. And I love how hard on himself and other people he is. Its not really a good thing. But its reality. I think the author shows a true boys emotions really well through him, the anger, disappointment, hope. He just seemed to have all the right reactions. He was one of my favorite characters. I also really enjoyed Atticus. He just always knew what to say even if he wasn't in a good mood or not hopeful he still told people the truth and he was such a good father, laywer and neighbor. I love his personality. and how he has hidden tallents. This was deffinitly one of my most favorite things we've read.
