  1. The person that i respect the most in The cruible would have to be Parris because he is hated in the community and he kind of blows it off sometimes. he also doesn't believe that there is anything going with witchcraft in the town. he is also a respectful person. he has his own beliefs, no one really cares about him.

  2. Rebecca Nurse, she is a wise, sensible, and upright woman. She seems to actually understand why the girls did what they did. She understand that girls at that age act differently and it will pass. She doesn't accuse them of witchcraft but sees that they are scared to admit they danced out of fear. That is why I respect her and the whole village should heed her words.

  3. Reverend Hale is the character that i respect the most in this story.I respect him because he is doing everything he can to help Betty. Hale knows allot about witchcraft and that he can use to see if she is bewitched. Reverend Hale might have done some bad things but he tries to help people that need it.

  4. At this point in the story I would have to choose Parris. Even though he may get picked on by the townspeople he still deserves the respect as a human being and as a reverend but by his reputation he is very disliked by the people of Salem. There is a way me and him relate in traits of personality. The way he is portrayed by other townsfolk is very unfair and disrespectful. Me as a student understands the qualities of being good and mister Parris understands as well that being a reverend in a town of crooks and unfair people that despise you for your beliefs is wrong. Parris shouldn't be disrespected just because he believes in other things that the common people don't. Me and Parris are very alike and I respect him very much.

  9. The character that I respect the most is Reverend Hale. I think this because he came all the way to Salem to help Betty. He is one of the wisest characters in the story. He is an expert on witch craft. He knows the most and is trying to do everything to help Betty. Also, everyone in the community respects him. Reverend Hale is the most respected character in my opion.

  10. The character i respect the most is Giles. I respect this character the most because he knows whats going on the most in Salem. He is the oldest person and knows the most as well. He knows all the laws towards witchcraft. He also so how it was all started. Giles never really interferes with anyone's business. He stays back and watches everyone point fingers at each other.

  11. The character I respect the most is Tituba. She was taken from her home in Barbados and was forced into being Parris' servant. She gets the blame for quite a lot, but never turns vindictive or mean. When Reverend Hale subliminally accuses her, she falls right into it. It's sad. I respect her because through what I've read she seems innocent, her life in Barbados didn't prohibit witchcraft... She didn't know any better.

  12. So far, I respect John Proctor the most. He cheated on his wife with Abigail Williams, which I don't agree with but it's in the past. Abigail keeps throwing herself at him and he does nothing but tell her to leave him alone. I think he's changed for the better. I respect that about him.

  13. So far the person I respect the most is John Proctor. I respect him the most because he has learned from his mistakes. He had an affair with Abigail, but he has learned to do the right thing by not going back to her. No matter how hard she tries, he doesnt go back. He's doing the right thing because he has a wife and a family he has to take care of.

  14. The character I respect the most so far is Elizabeth Proctor. She is John Proctor’s wife and knows what John had done with Abigail. Even though she knows his secret, she forgives him. I also respect that she is strong and sticks up for herself. Even though she still prods in his life and what’s he doing, she has every right to distrust him. She knows how to control her anger as well and that’s what I respect about her.

  15. From what i have read the character that i respect the most is Reverand Parris. The reason why i respect Reverand Parris is because he still stays in Salem no matter what. He knows that he is not liked by a large sum of people in Salem but that does not send him away. He does not give up on the people that do like him and trys to get other people on his side. He also cares deeply for his family and does everything he can for his daugther and niece. While Betty is asleep he calls for doctors to look at hr to find anything that would help her. He also helps Abigail Williams by allowing her to stay at his house.

  19. The person I respect most is Giles Corey. He is a very honest and wise man. He is kind to others. He also respects himself enough to stay in shape even after he turned eighty. He also isn't as nosy as most of the other characters, he respects people's privacy.

  21. I think is Reverend Hale. i feel that since he’s so high up in court and in the church people just feel that they have to respect him. For example; when he went to talk to the proctors even though he was there to see if Mrs. Practor was a witch, Mr. Proctor still tried to respect him. The people just look up to him in a way. Even though the court thinks Mrs. Proctor is a witch he's not really sure if that’s true.

  22. In the Crucible, I respect John Proctor the most. I know that he had an affair with Abigail earlier but he is trying to clean that up. He did confess it to his wife. Not everybody would do that. He also is trying to get Abigail completely out of his life. When his wife is charged with witchcraft, he is right up for his defense. He is trying to be a good husband to her and make up for his faults.

  23. The person I respect the most in The Crucible would be Parris. I respect him because he is his own person. He is the only character who doesn't think that witchcraft is in Salem. The people of Salem don't respect that much but he just puts that in the back of his mind. The reason i think he isn't liked in Salem is because he doesn't think like everyone else does.

  24. The person I respect the most in The Crucible is Elizabeth Proctor. Elizabeth is married to John and she is aware of what he has done behind her back. However, she still stays with John and tries to keep him happy. It takes a lot of strength for her to live with the fact that he had an affair but she does it well. She keeps her family together even when times are tough.

  26. In "The Crucible", the character I respect the most is Parris. The reason being is that unlike many of the others Parris seems to be an honest person. He is disliked by many from past events that are uncontrollable, but he continues to move forward and try to improve. He isn't one to point fingers, and although is he greedy with his money, he's not taking innocent lives for a ridiculous accusation. Also unlike all the others, he is much more open minded. He tries not to blame it all on witchcraft, whereas when people of the community heard it that's what they stuck to. He generally deals with the situation that is going on better then any of the others.

  27. So far, I respect John Proctor the most. Even though he did a dispicible thing, he is trying to overcome his temptations. He also cares for his wife, even though they have been through a lot of relationship problems. He is an honest man, too. He may have cheated, but he didn't keep it a secret. He told his wife about it. He is also pretty intelligent and bold. He doesn't disrespect other people very often, which also makes him more respectable. Most characters in the play are very disrespectful toward each other.

  29. Reverand Hale is the character I respect the most because he seems to be the most "holy" in the story. He is doing what he can to help everybody in the story. He is also just doing his job and doing what he thinks needs to be done. He knows the most about witchcraft. everbody trusts ever word he says, so he seems to be the most trustworthy.
