  1. By the end of the novel my favorite scene would have to be when Scout ended the conflict at the jailhouse. The situation shows the humility people can have when thinking on positive terms. Scout appeared as a innocent child to the mob taking negativity out of their actions making them think twice about the crime. Scout is an example of something thought to have little effects on people can do the exact opposite. The conclusion of the novel ended in karma-like after affects. Ewell would have killed four people (Tom and Helen Robinson, then Scout and Jem) but was killed before he could double his victims. The racist spark in the Maycomb community was dead and maybe the court systems in Maycomb will learn from their mistakes as this further in time.

  2. By the time the novel ended and I knew everything about every character I would have to say that Scout would still be my favorite from chapter 1 to chapter 31. Scout grew up throughout the novel and became a young woman so to speak. She learned things by just watching and only asked questions when she didnt know. Scout was sneaking around a lot within chapters to protect herself, Jem, and Atticus. She had a sense of bravery that helped them all very much. My favorite chapter would have to be 20 when they are all in court and Atticus gives his long speach to the audience and the jury "To do their duty" and make Tom Robinson not guilty! It gave me the chills and just was so powerful that everyone in the court should have believed that he did not do it. Atticus put his heart and sould into it and there was no second guessing it. This is what made it such an amzing and powerful sence for me and i feel in love with that Chapter!

  3. I am really sad to know the novel is over because I throughly enjoyed this book. I went into this thinking this would be a normal book with no attachments for me, but I will definelty always like this story. My favorite characters are Scout and Atticus. I love the bond they have with one another, and I just think they are great people. My favorite part in this whole book was probably in the end when Scout finally meets Boo Radely. This is because Scout wanted to meet Boo so bad and she finally did, realizing he was her friend. This book is not only a literary classic, but a new favorite for me.

  4. By the end of the novel my favorite character would have to be scout. She definetly grew up thoughout the novel and learned a lot along the way. My favorite scene in the novel would have to be when atticus is trying to prove Tom Robinson not guilty. The speech he gave was so powerful, I don't really know how people thought he did it. The conclusion of the novel scared me a little when Scout and Jem were getting attacked but Boo saved them and that made the ending of the book good! Also, in the end of the book I like how she summed the entire novel in just a couple paragraphs.

  5. Throughout the entire novel, my favorite characters had to be Atticus and Scout. I couldn't choose between the two. Atticus was such an honest and kind man, he didn't care what others thought. He always did the right thing. He also had a really good relationship with his children. However, Scout was a curious little girl. Her character was funny, unintentionally. I find that relatable because I was the same way when I was a child. My favorite scene of the novel was the whole trial in the court room with Tom Robinson. It showed people's true character. Also, Atticus conclusion statement was perfect. The whole thing was just interesting, even though it ended with Tom being found guilty.

  6. The book ended in such a sensational way that, I was satisfied with the ending. The way that Harper lee ended the book by summarizing the event that happened was breath taking. I have to say that this is one of my favorite books. If I had to choose one scene from To Kill a Mockingbird would have to be Miss Mayella Ewells testimony because she was so dramatic and you could tell she wasn't telling the truth and its power because you can hear the fear she has for her father Bob Ewell. You can notice the hold and abusive that he has on her from the court room. On the happy end of things Scout is my favorite character because she is just as adventurous as me when I was young. I remember playing spies in my neighborhood and creating ridiculous games. She has the innocence and youth that I miss.

  7. I personally thought the ending of this book was great. Harper Lee truly is a genius. My favorite scene is Atticus's ending testimony. He came out and said what was needed to be said and that it shouldn't be about black and white but about what is right and wrong. It really showed how bad Atticus wanted to win even though he knew it wasn't going to happen. I felt that Scout and Atticus were the most entertaining in this whole book. They both are almost exactly alike and are both great people

  8. The end of Harper Lees novel is very captivating and moving to me. This novel shows human nature at it's finest and this is all seen through the eyes of a young girl growing up.I have many favorite scenes from this novel that I can use as an example, but this one scene the most moving. The scene is when Scout is told by Atticus that you never know how nice a person is until you see them. This is what really catches me because you cannot judge or distinguish a person until you get to know them. And I completely agree with Atticu's statement.I can really relate to Scouts behavior as well because she reminds me of how I still look at things in life it is always in a different and far from the usual mindset.-Paloma Rivero

  9. I thought that the conclusion was amazing! Harper Lee did a very good job with the ending, and the entire book. My favorite scene was in the court room. It was very moving, and got me really into i to know what the outcome was going to be. Atticus was definitely my favorite character in the story because he was a very brave man. Atticus was someone for his children and everyone else to look up too. He was a man with a lot of courage and knew how to use his words properly. I loved this book !

  10. I loved the end of the novel and wished it continued. Harper Lee sums up the entire novel into a few paragraphs very well. My favorite scene in the novel is Scout’s realization of Boo by the door and when they link arm in arm to Boo’s front porch. This is one of my favorites because this is when Scout has a new generalization of people; that most people are nice once you get to see them. I think that Jem is the most relatable because he’s almost a teenager and is going through the same stages as we are as we’re growing up. In the end, I think that Boo is the most enjoyable because of the perceptions the children have of him throughout the novel. They thought he was this vicious, scary man that ate raw animals to find out that he is a very caring man, who saved their lives.

  11. I was satisfied with how the book ended. It didn't leave you guessing anything. My favorite part was basically all of part 2. I really can't narrow it down anymore. The second part of the book has so many powerful implications, from Atticus's closing speech in the court room, to the teacher explaining the evil of Hitler. I like the perspective the author puts on the topic of racism. The fact that we care so much about what's going on in the world, but over look what is happening closest to us could easily be applied to anything. Atticus was by far my favorite character. I love his personality and everything he stands for, and his boldness to stand up for his beliefs, even when no one else does. And I like how he is always there for his kids and treats them with respect and care.

  12. I was shocked at the end of the novel when it was revealed that Boo Radley was the man who stabbed Bob Ewell. He was the last man that I expected to save Scout and Jem due to the fact that they harassed him most of the novel. My favorite scene of the novel was when Bob Ewell was attacking the children on their way home from the pageant. My favorite character throughout the novel was Atticus. He was so wise and the children could go to him for anything.

  13. The most relatable character to me was most definitely Scout. She portrays the true innocence of a 7 year old girl during the time period. Harper Lee did an amazing job of summing up the novel within just a few paragraphs. I think that for any writer this is an astounding accomplishment. My favorite part of the book is in Part 1 when the children explore the ins and outs of the neighborhood and are notably curious of Boo Radley's life. The ending again left me astonished that Harper Lee was able to incorporate so many levels of intensity from the prejudice of the children on Boo Radley's life to find that in the end, their assumption was completely contrary. This is one of the most interesting books I have ever read and this is the only book that continues to captivate me.

  14. My final thoughts on Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird" were that it was an amazing book. Out of all of the books I've read over the past few years, this one is the one that got to me the most. I don't really have a favorite scene in the book but it comes down to either when Atticus is talking to the kids and quotes Thomas Jefferson and also explains to them that they need to "do their duty" or play their part in life. The other scene is when I find out that Boo Radley is the one who stabs Bob Ewell to save the lives of the children. Then Heck Tate makes it out to be a suicide. My favorite character in this novel is definitely Scout. She is my favorite because throughout the whole book is becoming wiser with each chapter. Whenever she is not sure of something she isn't hesitant to ask a question.

  15. I enjoyed the conclusion of the novel; the finishing quote was one of my favorite in the whole book. It truly summed up how scout viewed people, not just Boo but everyone else. My favorite scene in the novel was the fight scene with Mr. Ewell and the kids. It was very suspenseful and I kept wondering what was going to happen and who was there. I enjoyed Atticus the most out of all the characters. I found that he always had something meaningful and useful to say.

  16. I found the conclusion of the novel to be rather enjoyable. I just wanted to keep reading it, I was a little sad when the book was over. My favorite scene was definitely the trial. It gives a nice look back at how unjust America used to be, and how American citizens, such as Tom Robinson, could be denied the basic American rights. Atticus was by far my favorite character. The main reason was because he was the guiding force in Jem and Scout's lives.

  17. I was definitely shocked by the ending of the novel. I never would have thought that Bob Ewell would go as far as trying to kill Jem and Scout. My favorite scene in the novel was when Scout was walking Boo home at the end. She finally gets to meet him, something that she has wanted to do throughout the entire novel. Scout was the character that I found most enjoyable. She went from being a little girl that was oblivious to the real world to one that is growing up and starting to see things for what they really are.

  18. I thought the ending of the book turned out great. My favorite scene would have to be at the very end when scout finally met boo radley. Scout finally learned that what you hear is not always what it comes out to be. Scout was my favorite character. She is so young but she trys to act so old. Scout by the end of the novel, was very mature for her age, she definitely grew up since the beginning of the novel.

  19. My favorite part of the novel was in the court case. The chapters about Toms trial were very significant to me. After reading Atticus's last words on the topic of defending Tom, I was astonished with how the big picture tied in. Atticus attacks the traditions of the past With unsurmountable Evidence of descrimination in the present. It's an extremely emotional part in the novel and is a grood example of how great literature can be. Atticus incorporates every literary device and English Practice into his speech he can. In the end, I liked Atticus the most. He was always there for Jem and scout, absolutely a great father figure, and a moral man.

  20. I really enjoyed the ending of the novel. I was kind of shocked that Boo was the one that saved them, but I had a feeling that he was the one. My favorite scene of the novel was when Scout and Boo finally met. Scout learned a lesson to walk in someone else's shoes before you judge them. Scout was my favorite character. She is very smart for her age. Scout always stands up for what she wants.

  21. I honestly liked the ending of the novel I thought that it was great how Boo helped save the kids lives. I always knew that Boo was a good person and was not evil like they said he was in the beginning of the novel. My favorite scene in this novel was the ending when Boo saved Jems life by carrying him all the way home. My favorite character would have to be Jem. I chose Jem because he is a great big brother and is always trying to protect Scout throughout the whole novel which is what big brothers should do.

  22. When i finished the last chapter I was happy and content. The final chapter shows that Scout has grown up and is now fine with Boo. It has Atticus being there for the kids and they wont have to worry about anyone harming or insulting them about the case again. The part i loved the most was when Dill Jem and Scout played Radley in their front yard . I was cracking up because all i could picture was Atticus staring at the kids with the scissor and trying to get scout from underneath the stairs. My favorite character has to be Atticus . Atticus is always calm and collected and is trying to teach his kids that everyone should be equal and happy . Atticus is always there for the kids and gives them great advice.
